Public Fears

While there has been no unified effort to address the problem of medical errors and patient safety, awareness of the issue has been growing. Americans have a very real fear of medical errors. According to a national poll conducted by the National Patient Safety Foundation:

Forty-two percent of respondents had been affected by a medical error, either personally or through a friend or relative. Thirty-two percent of the respondents indicated that the error had a permanent negative effect on the patient’s health.

Overall, the respondents to this survey thought the health care system was moderately safe (rated a 4.9 on a 1 to 7 scale, where 1 is not safe at all and 7 is very safe).

Another survey, conducted by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, found that Americans are very concerned about:

Being given the wrong medicine (61 percent). Being given two or more medicines that interact in a negative way (58 percent). Complications from a medical procedure (56 percent).

Most people believe that medical errors are the result of the failures of individual providers. When asked in a survey about possible solutions to medical errors:

Seventy-five percent of respondents thought it would be most effective to keep health professionals with bad track records from providing care. Sixty-nine percent thought the problem could be solved through “better training of health professionals.”

This fear of medical errors was borne out by the interest and attention that the IOM report generated. According to a survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, 51 percent of Americans followed closely the release of the IOM report on medical errors.

As more people become aware of the magnitude of the problem, they will become more empowered to take charge of their own health care. Follow the lead of ASH to good health.

With every dollar spent on drugs and surgeries comes an increase in the likelihood you will die of symptoms that could be reversed naturally, inexpensively and nutritionally. The United States faces a health epidemic of unparalleled proportion. Americans lead in the spending on health care. As a matter of fact, they spend twice as much than other developed nations. We are paying dearly for the privilege of dying slowly from chronic diseases.

I joined ASH because I was skeptical of our health care system. The education offered by ASH is 100% complete, and individual research is strongly recommended. I’ve had my share of surgeries and I would like to QUIT while I’m ahead. I also wanted to share ASH with others and take advantage of the compensation plan.

Aside from the occasional cold or accidental injury, I had been healthy my whole life. During the 1990's some unexpected hardships created a lot of stress in my life. The stress affected my health so I went to see doctors who treated my symptoms with drugs which created more symptoms and adversely affected my psychological well-being. During my annual checkup and mammogram in 1999, my doctor informed me that I now had high blood pressure. He also told me that I had lumps in my right breast. He prescribed high blood pressure pills, told me to watch the lumps in my breast very closely since they can turn cancerous at any time, and insisted I should also start taking drugs for depression. I decided that a life of popping pills and waiting for a mastectomy was not for me. Preventing Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke, Diabetes and many others major illnesses does have a cost. The good news is prevention costs but a fraction of what it costs to actually experience serious disease, therefore ASH is saving it's members millions of potential health care cost dollars.

ASH is very difficult to promote even though the products do so much for health. There are many testimonials such as the one above, but that doesn't make promoting any easier.

I don't buy leads. I buy customers. They cost $50 each. Half of what the results of buying leads conversion cost without all the time spent. I don't have to make any calls. I don't get rejected. I do not have good telemarketing skills. I don't need them. And when I buy customers, they appear in my downline with out any effort on my part. And the 10% of my downline that are distributors do the same thing. Man-O-man we are happy buying customers not leads! Its Good Business

These customers that you are buying are already buying, and loving, the product. The result? You make money from their purchases. In other words, the more customers that you buy, the more money that you make.

What, exactly, did we inherit?

Organized medicine prefers that we believe our health is genetically predetermined. If we believe we are powerless to correct health problems on our own, organized medicine can sell us drugs and surgeries to allegedly overcome our presumed genetic weaknesses.

At ASH, we have seen how altering lifelong eating and drinking habits, incorporating exercise into daily activities and developing a more positive attitude toward life can dramatically improve conditions presumed to be genetically "hard wired" into our bodies.

As usual I have a major problem convincing anyone to believe in ASH. Mainly because Business Opportunity Seekers are NOT interested. Unfortuately, these are the names we receive when ordering a lead list. No matter what they are called - in most cases they are Business Opportunity Seekers.

I don't have that problem with Its Good Business... I BUY my customers. It's Great - no calling, no lead list,no emails etc. This is truly the way to go! My Business grows when I want it to. We are a group of folks that work together and have fun doing it.

The language of health and healing.

Mastery of their secret language has created a great deal of arrogance among the practitioners of western medicine. This arrogance deepens the divide between doctors and their patients. Division never results in healing. In order to effect healing, we must bridge the communication between healers and patients using plain language that ordinary people understand and act upon without learning a new language.

We need to start describing diseases in terms of their root causes, not in terms of their arcane, biochemical actions. When someone suffers from seasonal affective disorder or clinical depression, for example, let's call it what it is: Sunlight Deficiency Disorder (SDD). To treat it, the person simply needs to get more sunlight. This isn't rocket science, it's not complex, and it doesn't require a prescription.

If someone is suffering from osteoporosis, let's get realistic about the words we use to describe the condition-it's really Brittle Bone Disease. And it should be treated with things that will enhance bone density, such as nutrition, physical exercise and avoidance of foods and drinks that strip the human body of bone mass.

More common sense learning. However I can't do it any longer. I can NO longer market ASH using the tools given by the Marketing Experts.
